SUPPORT GROUPS In order to provide maximum therapeutic gains, cautiously considering members is important. Individuals and groups that are mismatched can have a negative impact, not to exclude early closure caused by the member (Gans & Counselman 2010). The group leader is in charge of making important choices in regard to group members although other groups require other considerations. The theory of group layout has developed over time. Historically, limitations of inclusion/exclusion were rigid (Dwivedi, 1993), now the idea has shifted and supports a more fluid and inclusive approach to selection (Malekoff, 2014). Screening Questions for Group Selection Demographics: Name of member, age of member, members address, members phone number and email address 1) What is your familiarity with the Love and Logic program? 2) How many children do you have? 3) What are the ages of your children? 4) What is your relationship with the children (Bio parent, foster parent, adoptive parent, step parent, etc…)?
