The project objectives were followed as well as the specific guidelines given in the lab. At the end of the lab the two alternate routes will be compared to see which is more effective. Objectives for the Project Create an efficient roadway for both alternatives Create a cost effective roadway for both alternatives Minimize environmental impact to surroundings Determine whether the Western Route or Eastern Route will be more effective Digital Terrain Modeling The task is to prepare two alternate route designs for a rural collector from PA SR 1025 near Tobymines to a newly constructed freeway exit. The alternatives will intersect SR 1025 at a western and an eastern terminus. The West and East alternatives will traverse the respective parts of the study area. Designing the routes must be in accordance with the guidance in the 2004, a policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets while minimizing the impact on the State Forest and the existing communities and avoiding impact to agricultural land.
