These people are molded and influenced by the kind of society they live in and by the kind of leadership the government renders. Seeing that a society is a large group of people, therefore it is also composed of a variety of principles and values especially in serious matters that might create problems resulting to social issues. Social issues have a huge impact to individuals within the society. It is usually a repercussion of the conflicting opinions of the respective individuals regarding what it morally right and acceptable. One of the common social issues is Rape culture. Rape culture is an environment in which sexual harassment or violence is normalized due to attitudes and opinions on gender and sexuality. Behaviors that are commonly linked to rape culture are sexist attitudes, victim-blaming, unequal pay, catcalling, whistling, rape jokes, threatening, safe words violations, objectification of women bodies, teaching women not to get raped, undervaluing sexual assault, and anything that takes no account of the women’s rights. An article entitled “Sexual Harrassment: How it stands around the globe” stated in the website of CNN, " Rape is an extreme consequence of sexual harassment, " said Rachel Jewkes, director of the What Works to Prevent Violence Against Women and Girls global program . Also stated in the article. In reality, sexual harassment has already been a pacel of our daiy lives , Jewkes also believes. "It's used to curtail a woman's freedom."
