Arguments AGAINST pornography and their counterarguments: Arguments AGAINST pornography Counterarguments Supports organized crime Myth Causes men to commit rape Rape is a violent crime, not a crime about sex. Men who would commit rape would do so with or without pornographic material. Causes people to commit acts of sexual violence Pornography is sexually explicit material, not violent material. Causes promiscuity Is promiscuity wrong? Why? Encourages homosexuality Encourages homosexuality in homosexuals only. Pornography doesn’t plant a seed, but may help a seed develop. Encourages relations outside of marriage Are relations outside of marriage wrong if they are mutually agreed upon? (Ex. Swingers) Also, relations outside of marriage
