Reli 4910 Ward, 9:05 – 9:55 Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance As soon as we were done watching this movie I knew exactly what you meant when you talked about the brutality of some of the films. I thought this was by far the coolest of the movies that we have seen thus far, but having seen Oldboy previous to this one, I was a little disappointed. The seen with Ryu and the bat was probably one of the most ruthless scenes of any movie. When you could hear the bat pinging against the concrete floor while he was still actually hitting him, it was pretty ridiculous. I really thought that this movie was going to be awesome when it first started, but then as it kept going I was a little disappointed. Like I said after seeing Oldboy I was looking for a little more fighting, spread throughout the movie rather than just one scene. Not only was the

Unformatted text preview: movie visually appealing but I thought that the story was pretty solid as well. I was shocked, even though not really surprised that the people he was going to sell his kidney to cheated him. I thought it was awesome how he got his revenge, and I guess was the part of the title. I was really surprised however, when his girlfriend actually had terrorist comrades that ended up killing the little girls father. Overall I thought the movie was fairly good, although I thought a few parts like the handicapped guy at the river and some of the dialogue was a little unnecessary. The dialogue about the man with two heads and maybe a few other parts just seemed like a waste, or maybe I just missed the intended point....
