Kelsey Berg CWV 101 August 19, 2019 Jeffrey Fullam Gospel Essentials Introduction The Christian worldview is one that is often controversial and composed of many different beliefs. In this paper, there will be an explanation of the essential elements of the Christian worldview and how they affect the various lives and views of other worldviews. The important topics that will be covered consist of God, Humanity, Jesus, and Restoration. There will then be an analysis and reflection on the Christian worldview and how it is interpreted by other worldviews. God What is God Like? God is said to be four main things, the first being that God is a Spirit as he is not limited to boundaries, he is immeasurable and can be everywhere at any time. Second, the Bible reveals God as a person as he is capable of feeling, thinking, loving and forgiving even though he does not take the shape of a body. God also is declared to be a holy and righteous being as he is perfect, good and does not sin. Last, God is love and because of his love has provided a plan of redemption and salvation for all of his people. What are God’s Characteristics?

God has many characteristics that make him who he is, but some of his strongest characteristics consist of his ability to be everywhere around us and all-knowing of the paths he leads us down. He is accepting of us all, when we sin, he will forgive us if we are deserving, but he will also love us through our sins. God is also powerful as he created the Earth and the heavens, as well as humanity. What is His Creation? In seven days, God had created the Earth, the heavens and humanity. On the first day God created light, on the second day God created the seas and the sky. He then created land and plants for the land on the third day. On day 4, God created the sun, moon, and the stars. On day 5, God created the fish and the birds and on the sixth day, he created animals, as well as humans. After all of his hard work, God rested on the seventh day and appreciated his good work that he accomplished. Humanity What is Human Nature? It is human nature to sin, at least that is what the Bible states after Eve and Adam decide to sin against God and eat the fruit from the tree of life. We are material beings that search for our desires but find ourselves appealing to patterns and concepts that are not naturally indicated. To be a full human being we must do more than follow our desires and selfish ideals. What is Human Purpose? Human purpose is what individuals create for themselves and decide what their purpose should mean. In the Bible, God wants man to be fruitful, this can mean reproduction, but it also

means to produce love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, and self-control. “Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry long the ground.” (Genesis 1:28, ESV)
