2 PART A 1.Describe how the activities influenced your awareness and understanding of the interrelationship between business and society. Use examples from your activities in each of the modules and include evidence from your online discussion postings to support this answer. Recognizing the role and responsibilities of business in the society has been many scholarly exploration and concern over the decades. The relationship between business and society in recent years had seen a massive change from the traditional classical standpoint of business- as-profit societies to a more ethical approach that analyzes the greater impact of business to maximize economic agents. Many factors have contributed to shaping the new relationship between business and society. Globalization has imposed tremendous pressure on the corporates worldwide to increase its global image. The growing power of consumers compels businesses to be more conscious towards the destructive effects of their operations, adding that the growing trend of ethical consumerism is what imposes a threat to both an opportunity and worldwide business. The mounting concerns of the environmental footprint of business activities, as well as the growing strength of civil society activists in many countries made it impossible for businesses to carry out their activities with the freedom they enjoyed earlier. The impact of stricter government regulations and standardization on brand image, all these factors that are imposed a huge burden on businesses. As a result, an amendment of the relationship between business and society became inevitable. Hence, the increase of ideas like
