Affinity Mapping Activity Summary - Section 002 Each question is followed by the student-created categories for the class' responses and a brief summary of overall trends within those responses. 1. What sources of information about the past/types of evidence about the past do you think are most reliable? Why? Historian accounts Written record Primary accounts Pictures and videos Tangible evidence Responses generally fell into the broader categories of primary and secondary sources. Most students found primary source material such as first-hand accounts and documents/artifacts from the period to be the most credible. Some responses argued that these materials are reliable because they originated from the time in question and are difficult to fake. Others stressed that primary sources should be viewed with caution until they’ve been evaluated against other evidence. Students who found scholarly sources most reliable did so because they typically take into account a variety of perspectives and have been peer-reviewed by other experts in the field. 2. What sources of information/forms of evidence about the past do you find least reliable? Why?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
