Arens 1 Alex Arens Mr. Halterman English 11 23 February 2019 Persuasive Speech Too many equal rights are just as bad as not enough equal rights. One person stands on one side of equal rights while another stands on the opposite side of that right. How can both sides achieve equality? In the past slaves as well as women fought for rights to have equality. There were many opposed. Presently, some people are fighting for the right to utilize abortion for a number of different reasons; at the same time there are others fighting to abolish abortion all together. How can equality for all be achieved when the views are extremely opposite? In the 1800’s slaves pled with lawmakers to be granted equality. They desired freedom from the bondge of slavery. The prayers of both could not be answered-- that of neither has been answered fully” (Second Inaugural Address lines 33 -37). The freedom for slaves seemed fair to some but anything but fair to others. However, the law was passed and freedom rang for African American slaves to live in equality with all other men. All men could attend school, shop, walk, and live freely together with equality. But what about women?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
