WHAT IS THE CDC? The CDC is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They are the United States Federal Agency under the Department of Health. They increase the health security of the nation. They conduct critical science and provide heath information that protects our nation against expensive and dangerous health threats and responds when these “O UR MISSION IS TO PROTECT AMERICA FROM HEALTH , SAFETY , AND SECURITY THREATS OF DISEASE , BOTH FOREIGN AND IN THE US .” CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION
