Physician offices and hospitals would be completely paperless, the need to print and fax records to other facilities would be deemed unnecessary, and physicians would have the complete picture of their patient’s health at all times. Unfortunately, the implementation of EMR systems is posing as a more difficult challenge than originally planned. While there are many benefits of implementing EMR, one of the downsides is both the extreme financial and time cost.
