Briana Palencia CHEM 3321-152 3/20/2019 Experiment 9 PreLab: Isolation of Limonene: Using Liquid Carbon Dioxide as a Solvent Introduction: The purpose of this experiment is to isolate limonene from an orange peel by doing a liquid extraction with liquid CO 2 (dry ice) as a solvent. Polarimetry will then be used isolate the limonene and to calculate the purity and yield of the limonene. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
