INTRODUCTION Tourism is an important sector in New Zealand. The sector not only accounts for a significant percentage of New Zealand’s workforce but also contributes immensely towards its GDP (Tourism Industry Aotearoa, 2017). The tourism industry comprises of many players among them the travel agencies, hotel and hospitality sector, transport sector, and government agencies, which collectively play a vital role in ensuring the development and implementation of sustainable processes and policies with which to ensure its success (Waligo, Clarke & Hawkins, 2013). This paper focuses on analyzing the operations of INZ Education & Tourism Limited (INZET Ltd), which is one of the leading education and travel agencies in Christchurch, New Zealand. The principal goal of this research study is to evaluate comprehensively the kind of tourism packages that the agency offers to its clients with a special interest of determining their strengths and weaknesses, and ultimately give recommendations on what ought to be done for the purposes of improvement. Industry Background The tourism industry is doubtlessly one of the leading contributors to the economic and social wellbeing of New Zealand. Other than being the country’s largest export earner, the tourism industry accounted for 20.7% of foreign exchange earnings of New Zealand in 2016 (Tourism Industry Aotearoa, 2017). The industry directly employs more than 188, 000 people, which is equivalent to 7.5% the country’s total workforce (New Zealand Tourism, 2016). As evident in the figure below, the tourism industry has constantly provided high levels of employment either directly or indirectly to New Zealand’s population for about a decade.
