Day of The Trial: March 10 th Oakville’s residents were much involved in the trial. Which resulted in packed court room hours before of trial. It also attracted Black community of the city and ‘oldest negro’ John Wallance was also there. Ira Johnson and Isabella Johnson were also attending the trial.

Phillips was charge a fine of 50 dollar or 30 days of imprisonment Breach of the criminal code chapter 36 s.464 sub section c, Which says, “everyone is guilty of indictable offence of having his face covered or blackened, or otherwise disguised, by night, without lawful excuse, the proof thereof lying on him, shall be liable is to term of imprisonment not exceeding five year”
