Introduction: This laboratory experiment will investigate chemical kinetics and what affect the rate of a reaction. This experiment will be a Landolt clock experiment where after a set time the solution will change colour as it takes time a threshold needs to be reached in order for the solution to change colour. Procedure: 1) Set up the experiment: a) Get 5.0 ml of 0.025M potassium iodate and add 10 drops of 1% starch b) Get 5.0 ml of 0.13M hydrogen sulfate c) Add both to a 50 ml beaker and begin timer simultaneously d) Repeat 3 times 2) Next, we diluted the potassium iodate and repeated step 1. Keeping the volumes constant 3) Then we diluted the hydrogen sulfate and repeated step 1. Keeping the volumes constant 4) The next factor we tested was temperature; We placed the 5.0 ml samples of potassium iodate and hydrogen sulfate into test tubes. Then we chilled the test tubes in an ice bath until they became chilled. The samples were then mixed and placed back into the ice bath

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
