Religions have been in existence for the longest time possible. As so, they have been in the cultural aspects of humanity for long such that they tend to be intertwined with the societal order. Nonetheless, time changes and as it changes, religions also change. This then tends to create an urgency for the need to update the knowledge base as well as the position of religion in various realities. Known as the concept of experimental religion/Buddhism, the need to have religion positioned to align well with various realities tends to make humanity appreciate where they are and not where they wish to be. Using this concept, this analytical piece helps to explain why the inferred case studies can be framed as being experimental Buddhism. To begin with, the expansion of Buddhism has made it necessary for the consideration of its experimental nature.
