Darrell L. Johnson, Jr. 726385 MGT 3200Z Lesson 8 1. Management Inventory : A type of record kept for human resource management. It contains the organizational history of an employee as well as how the organization might use them in the future. 2. EEOC: Enforces federal laws preventing discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin in recruitment, hiring, firing, layoffs, and all other employment practices. 3. Succession planning: The process of out-lining who follows whom in different organiza- tional positions. 4. Testing: Evaluating human resources for relevant qualities to performing available jobs. 5. Selection: Choosing a person to hire from all individuals who have been recruited. 6. The purpose of recruitment is to narrow a large field of prospective employees to a smaller group of people from which someone will eventually be hired. 7. A job analysis is used to gain understanding about a job. The job description outlines the ac- tivities of the job and the job specification outlines the characteristics of the individual who should be hired for the job. Both the job description and the job specification are the result of conducting a job analysis. The HR department has to formulate job positions based on the analyses conducted to determine the purpose and usefulness of each position (Muchinsky & Paul, 2012). It can therefore be deduced that job description and job specification are prod- ucts of job analysis because without job analysis, it would neither be possible nor necessary to compile job descriptions and job specifications.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
