2019 World Studies Spring Exam Essay Prompt The five broad historical categories : Exploration Absolutism French Revolution The “isms” (Nationalism, Industrialism, and Imperialism) World War I Your task is to identify and explain with credible historical evidence and a thorough argument -- utilizing the elements of ethos, pathos, and logos-- which event or individual from each historical category is the most significant event or individual from that era. You will not have to write about all five categories, but you will need to prepare for multiple. On exam day your teachers will randomly pick three categories, and you will write about the two categories you prefer. As was the case last semester, you will be provided with a scratch sheet of paper on exam day, along with a copy of this prompt and the rubric.
