Job Analysis and Job Description Individual Assignment 1 September 1, 2019 HRM4485 XTIA Job Analysis and Job Description Individual Assignment Job Analysis identifies and determines job duties and requirements for a specific job. Job Analysis is a process where judgments are made about data collected on a job. Job Analysis also establishes and documents the job-relatedness of employment procedures such as training, selection, compensation, and performance appraisal. Collecting information is the first step I use in any job analysis. I would gather information through different methods such as interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The work environment has a significant impact on the physical requirements to be able to perform a job. Some functions and responsibilities are conducted using specific equipment and tools such as protective clothing and safety glasses. Requirements for a job are essential such as education, professional background, knowledge, and skillsets. Some job analyses only include minimum or preferred qualifications. Reviewing background information is the second step of a job analysis process. This is where previously collected data is considered to design current job descriptions and specifications, procedures, and organizational charts. Obtaining data and information related to the selected job is another step to processing a job analysis. Data is collected on work conditions, human traits and qualities, and abilities to perform the job. After collecting all the information and data, I would continue with developing a job description. A job description is a written statement of a specific job, based on the findings of a job analysis. It generally includes duties, purpose, responsibilities, and working conditions of a job along with the job's title, and the name of the person to whom the employee reports such as a manager or supervisor.
