Sam Hines Professor Powers ENG- 23714 April 23, 2016 Writer’s Statement Major Paper Three The title of my memoir is “The Lesson That Lasts a Lifetime”. My title shows to the readers that they are going to experience something that has impacted me and will continue to impact me for the rest of my life. It shows that, somewhere in my paper, I am going to learn something that will affect me forever. In my paper, I am not trying to persuade, inform, or convince anybody of anything. I am using the life of my grandma, Sharon Hines, and the small aspects of her life that I could fit into this paper, as a teacher to myself to show the readers how I have learned more from my grandma passing than I will ever need to know in any college class. This lesson that I have expressed in my paper is one that the reader can use to apply to their own lives, in an effort to bring happiness and love into their family. The people that would take away something positive from my paper would be the same people that might be going through any kind of struggle that we experience today. If you are
