Eunise Olvera UWRT 1004 Dr. Jan Rieman 09/25/18 Reading Response to “Annotating Your Way Into Academic Discourse” Throughout high school, in my AIG class we were always required to annotate text when doing a research project. My teacher would typically request us to print out a copy of our article and highlight or underline what we felt we needed to remember or would be beneficial for our research. We’d also write notes in the margins about the information we found. Although we did annotate for research papers, I wouldn’t say we did it often for any other assignments. When you annotate, you respond and react to the text as well as ask questions. These annotations act as a basis to what you can contribute to a scholarly conversation. By writing notes, you are communicating with the author and displaying how you respond to their work. As I read through the annotations I noticed that a majority of them were questions made
