Stop 1: Healthy People 2020. I love this initiative. When I first started nursing school and learning about the top diseases that take people each year is that some of the top ones are because of lifestyle and modifiable. Therefore, why do we keep doing it? This is an organization I could see myself being a part of. I strive to be healthier. It’s hard, but this is motivating and encouraging. The topic I chose to look at was Access to health care. This is in my opinion one of the biggest problems that I have personally experienced and seen. If you do not have insurance and sometimes even if you do it is still so expensive to go see your pcp. It is also expensive to have tests ran. For chronic illnesses the doctor wants to see you every 3 months. Not everyone can afford that. Also wants labs done and sometimes procedures. I see the benefits in all of these, but for someone who cannot afford them might hinder the patient getting better or because of the expensiveness of test may not get diagnosed In time to treat a disease. As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
