Jack King Sociology April 23, 2019 Coach Tinker Norway vs the United States of America Culture between the United States and Norway can be very different. The two countries have very different ways that they approach people, handle situations, who they talk to, and beyond. The two countries have different views on many if not most situations they handle in daily situations. Norwegians are more private in their lives, generally speaking, than Americans. Some Norwegians say that “An elevator with an American, will never be a quiet elevator.” and that is mostly true. Americans talk to strangers and Nords tend not to. Nords and Americans may seem to be polar opposites but they’ve got commonalities as well. Norwegians Feel as though things such as “small-talk” what is the time while Americans on the other hand, believe this “small-talk” is almost necessary in day-to-day situations. In Norway, you only speak to people whenever it is completely necessary during the workday, otherwise someone may think that you’re trying to distract them and or waste their time. In the US, people
