Film 101 Film Journal: Raiders of the Lost Ark I will begin by saying that I have always had a huge emotional tie to this movie. I specifically remember the poster outside of the movie theater in South Miami off of US-1 as I walked in with my brother and parents to see my first ever movie in the theater. This chapter made me sit there and think of some of the special ins and outs from the movie that in my eyes make it one of the all-time great action movies. From the story telling following the character Indiana Jones through every scene, it is fairly clear from the beginning who the protagonist is and what their objective is, to find the Ark of the Covenant. In the first act, we get a glimpse of what he does for a living and we also meet the antagonist Belloq. The scenes are shot in sequence, which makes it easy to understand and track what is going on throughout the movie. Throughout the film, we are introduced to some subplot characters such as Marian, Sallah, Brody and the Nazi’s Dietrich and Toht.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
