Chapter 4 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION This chapter presents the results and discussion of the study. Table 1 Comparison on the Mass of the Rats Before and After Feeding Them. TREATMENT BEFORE (grams) Replication 1 2 3 Mean AFTER (grams) Replication Mean 1 2 3 CONTROLLED 34 26 30 30 36 25 30 30 LOW-FAT MILK 26 25 31 27 28 27 32 29 WHOLE MILK 33 28 28 30 34 26 38 34 Based on the results we gathered after exposing the rats to the three treatments (controlled, low-fat milk and whole milk), we observed that there is no change in the mean of the rats’ mass exposed to the controlled group meanwhile the rats exposed to both the low-fat milk and whole milk increased their mass, with a margin of difference of 2. 26

Table 2 Comparison on the Blood Sugar Level of the Rats Before and After Feeding Them. TREATMENT BEFORE (mg/dL) Replication 1 2 3 Mean AFTER (mg/dL) Replication Mean 1 2 3 CONTROLLED LOW-FAT MILK WHOLE MILK 85 78 83 82 88 75 82 82 73 75 74 74 79 78 78 78 81 80 88 83 82 79 82 81 Based on the results we gathered after exposing the rats to the three treatments (controlled, low-fat milk and whole milk), we observed that the rats exposed to the controlled treatment showed no change in its mean while the mean of the blood sugar of the rats fed with low-fat milk increased from 74 mg/dL to 78 mg/dL. The mean of the blood sugar of the rats’ fed with whole milk, on the other hand, decreased from 83 mg/dL to 81 mg/dL, thereby showing that the low-fat milk affected the rats’ blood sugar levels in such a way that it increased, the whole milk caused it to decrease.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
