Journal # 5 3/19/08 If I were to have to deal with one roommate who had felt ganged up on, I would address the situation in a careful manner. I first would ask the resident who feels ganged up on if he/she has told the roommates about the problem and addressed it with them all present. If not then, I will tell them to talk to the roommates and see if they can come up with a solution. If the resident had previously talked to the other roommates then I would give them all a date to meet with me and have a discussion about this situation. In the meeting I would set ground rules such as not yelling, not cursing, not making fun of anyone and one person at a time gets to talk. Making sure that the person doesn’t feel pressured and making it a safe environment. After the rules are set I would then let the person who feels ganged up on express their views and then let the others tell how they feel about the situation. I would ask them if there is anything they feel that can help solve the situation. Such as not making fun of the person, letting the person be able to speak his
