Emily De Vesta Defining Family Assignment 01/27/19 Part One: When it comes to family my thoughts are simple. Family is whoever makes you feel a part of loving space. During my upbringing I faced divorce with my family. My mother, my sister, and I moved from New York to Iowa leaving my father behind. At the time I was two years old and I thought visiting my dad three times a year was normal. As I grew up, I realized my family wasn’t like most of my friend’s families. This brought a lot of hardship on my family because I started to grow anger towards my parents. I felt like I had no family because mine was different. As I got a little older my opinion about family shifted and I realized every family looks different. In chapter one, I learned of a lot about the key concepts of being a family. A lot of the elements of family had to do with blood relatives, or legally who was a part of your family. I relate to more of the Role Lens type of family. I feel that even though most of our family is
