It revolves around the struggle of poorly paid janitors in Los Angeles who are fighting for better working conditions (Loach). The essay is going to explore intersection oppression in the film which is faced by Maya and Rosa who are the protagonist of the film. Racism, gender, sexism, class, work, and immigrant status will also be addressed in thispaper.Gender is the feature of either being a male or a female. In the film, “Bread and Roses,” gender is a central theme as seen in various scenarios (Ross). The male in the movie have been displayed to degrade women dignity where they use them as sexual tools in various scenarios. For instance, Rosa, who is Maya’s sister had to prostitute in order to pay Maya’s education. Moreover, she also had to sleep with her supervisor in the Clean Angels Company to get Maya her job.
