REVIEW FOR EXAM 1 Amendments : 1- Freedoms: Religion, Speech, Press, Assembly, Petition Gov’t ; establishment clause prohibits the gov’t from establishing a nat’l religion 2- Right to Bear Arms 3- No mandatory quartering of soldiers 4- Search and seizure ; exclusionary rule any evidence illegally obtained is inadmissible in court 5- Right against self incrimination ; double jeopardy 6- Fair & speedy trial ; impartial jury of your peers 7- Trial by jury 8- Cruel and unusual punishment ; excessive bail ; excessive fines 9- Rights shall not be construed to deny any other rights ; other rights to the people 10- Powers not delegated to the federal gov’t but not prohibited to the states, are reserved to the states 11- Strengthened dual federalism thru the judiciary 13- Abolished slavery 14- Full citizenship; equal protection clause guarantees all citizens’ equal protection under the law (eliminates discrimination) 15- Black men get the right to vote
