DOMINIQUE SKINNER Dr. Maya Angelou An Autobiography As creators, we share a small piece of us with others. Sometimes it is for a moment, and sometimes those moments last a lifetime. Dr. Maya Angelou once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” As a creator and brilliant mind, Dr. Maya Angelou used words to evoke feelings from people of different generations, cultures, skin colors, economic backgrounds, and genders. Her words are timeless, and the energy she gave them are lively. In addition to the words she’d gifted us with, she’d also made a mark in history in film, television, theater, transit, and civil rights movement. Dr. Maya Angelou was more than a poet, author, actor, director, dancer, and singer. She was a storyteller and teacher. She used different avenues of her gifts to share stories, to promote justice, to spread love, and to speak truth.
