Morality and Justice Paper 1: option 2 3/18/05 Many of today’s ethical debates revolve around the sanctity of human life. This issue refers to the importance or value of human life. Many people have different views on issues regarding human life such as the death penalty, abortion, and stem cell research. Most people regard human life very highly and many even go so far as to claim that human life should be protected in all circumstances. These are the people who reject any claims that the destruction of human life can be legitimate. At the core of this argument is the belief that life begins at conception. Those who oppose such an opinion debate the fact that life begins at conception. Instead, they believe that people only deserve their basic human rights at birth. Embryonic stem cell research involves using a blastocyst to create many different types of tissue. This tissue can be used for research purposes or for transplants on patients who would otherwise die while waiting for a donor. Today we have the extremist who are opposed to stem cell research because they claim a blastocyst is a person with a full human right to life. They make this debate based on three claims; humanity, potentiality, continuity.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
