Case incident 2: The Business of Blogs 1. Blogs have the potential to influence all aspects of the communication process. Suddenly—with the newfound capability for anyone with a computer and internet access to post a blog—there will be a giant surge in the number of senders. The senders will be from all parts of the world, from all backgrounds imaginable, and therefore they will be encoding an unfathomable array of thoughts. As there are more thoughts being encoded, there will be more messages of all varieties, more information to be shared. Then, of course, there is the blog itself. The most influenced aspect of the communication process is clearly the channel, as a blog is an entirely new medium for which a message can travel. The channel is the most fundamentally necessary part of the communication process, for without it the sender cannot send information to a receiver. With the new innovative channel (the blog), millions and millions of people are suddenly connected and able to share thoughts and ideas, something incapable of happening so easily without the blog. In terms of receivers, the blog allows more of them (in likeness to the greater number of senders) to access the messages sent. There is no obvious change on the
