Introduction This paper gives an in-depth review of the article ‘Industrial relations and the Sociological study of labor law’ from a journal of the social and economic relations of work. This paper will first give a general summary of the article followed by a critical analysis of the article structure and the effectiveness of the structure implemented. Further, an article critique will be conducted to analytically evaluate the authority of the author and the publisher, the accuracy of the information provided in the article, the currency of the information on the article together with the referenced texts, the relevance of the article to any user, the objectivity of the article content and stability of the article. 2. Literature Review An extensive literature has been published in the area of industrial relations and labor laws. This section discusses some of the different published literature in relation to the subject. Judy Wajcman (2000) established that the time has come to renegotiate the limits, as far as Britain is concerned, between industrial relation hypothesis and feminist analysis. Judy felt

Similarly, Judy recognizes the need to recognize gendered character of employment relations and of work itself. In conclusion, the author demonstrates that formal establishments like the state and management cannot be treated as gender neutral. Karl Kock (2004) mentions that at the start of the 21 st century, industrial relations emerged as a central field of enquiry and study which was characterized by well-defined determinants but the fact that many of the factors that have defined the field are undergoing transformations, and to understand the new patterns emerging demands a broader approach. Rani P. Suseela and P. Srinivas Subba Rao (2012) observed that the provision of welfare amenities empowered the workers to live a wealthier and better quality life and manner contributed to their efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, it helps keep up industrial peace.
