Chapter 9 Study Guide Name: __Thomas Parrott__ Chapter 9 Study Guide Key Terms: Conflict – Occurs when individuals, small groups, or organizations experience or feel that there is some kind of frustration in the process of attaining goals and addressing concerns Conflict Episodes – Descriptions of the complex interactions of both individual and group perceptions, emotions, behaviors, and outcomes during conflict. Negotiation – Process of conflict management that involves discussions between and among individuals who are interdependent and need to make a decision together. This is usually seen in compliance with the need to compromise effectively. Whistle-blowing – Reporting unethical behavior to someone who has power to do something about it. Guiding Questions: Describe a recent organizational conflict that you experienced or saw on television. What was the context of that conflict? What were some of the causes?
