Testing and Deployment BSCS 425 Module 4 Case Jonathan Schubert Trident University International Dr. Kurt Diesch April 20, 2018
Introduction In the process of implementation and development of a new procedure, testing is a very important part of this process. While there are many different steps to follow in this process, ensuring this phase is initiated at some point is vital for success. Even though your company or the company you work for might have the best developers in the business, it is still essential to check even their work using various test cases as well as testing phases throughout the entire development event. By utilizing a testing sequence within the implementation process, it allows for corrections to be made and modified overtime versus all at once. This break down overtime can help alleviate any major headaches that the system may have within. Test Plan For the current class project, which implements a better tracking database, first and foremost a plan must be set in place when testing should happen. In this case, testing has happened in a couple of phases. The first, after major development of the program, second is an alpha release of the program and the third is a beta release of the program. This planning will help over time isolate any issues that may be wrong with the program, database, entries, deletions, recalls or anything that would not be detected immediately by the developer. The first portion of testing allows for testing cases. Some of the cases that were documented were the utilization of the form entries on all forms. These included ensuring users could provide multiple hotreps per mission. Also, if a party member or an OGK representative was not in the drop down menu, user would be able to add both using the required forms. By giving the user drop down menus, it allows for the generation of a report to have more of a uniform look in the report. This is key to give a clean snapshot to organizational leadership in reference to DV/Party type, SQ, or aircraft tail. Below is a sheet giving examples of three test cases after the development phase.
