Introduction Hayden Butte, also commonly known as “A Mountain” or “Tempe Butte” is located in Tempe on display for the whole city and some areas of Phoenix to see. This mountain is decorated with a yellow A to represent the towns university, Arizona State. Hayden Butte has two sides, the north side facing the nearby Tempe Town Lake and the south side facing the Arizona State University campus. The north and south side are similar in the fact that they make for a good hike to see the sunset but plant diversity and abundance is visibly different on both sides. Different plant diversity can be due to the amount of sunlight, water (rain or groundwater, and the slope of the mountain. Given we hot Arizona temperature a lot of the of the planta are also manipulated to adapt to the heat and rainless days.
