Process Fundamentals Case SummaryA process is a collection of tasks, connected by flows of goods and information, that transformvarious inputs into valuable outputs.Process flow diagram: tasks are rectangles, flows are arrows, storage of goods are invertedtriangles. Tasks, flows, and storage are the 3 general categories for activities within a process.Tasks often takes the form of added labour and capital. There are flows of goods and flows ofinformation, generally depicted differently on a diagram. The state of technology influences thenature of tasks and flows. Storage occurs when no task is being performed and the good orservice is not being transported. We can also store information, again depicted differently. Twotypes of information are records and controls.
