Primark has branches in the following countries Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Pakistan, Spain and the United Kingdom. The current chief executive officer of Primark is Paul Merchant while the chief operating officer of the firm is John little. Major products that Primark deals with are clothing, cosmetics and housewares. The cooperation has hired over seventy thousand employees, and the number continues to grow with the growth of the company. The revenue has grown over the years and below is a chart showing the revenue growth of Primark from 2007-2015.
2The above steady growth is a clear indication that the company continues to grow as the number of customers increase their trust in the company. PESTLE analysis on Primark s operating in e-commerce websites hows that the company faces lots of (Crème, 2018) negativity that affect the institution. On political factors, it is evident that the Brexit caused political turmoil in the land, especially in the United Kingdom. The exit brought in different rates and taxes that would change over time. The move affected Primark since its parent company ABF had started the decisionthat the decision to leave the United Nations came with uncertainties in both the financial markets and the environment.Social factors that are affecting Primark include the growth of plus size fashion and the ageing United Kingdom population. Increase in growth of most men and women in the U.K have made it hard for customers to access retailer shops since in most cases getting the oversized clothes with the dealers is quite hard. Rising obesity levels increase the market gap opportunity for retailers including Primark. The ageing United Kingdom population has also made it hard for people to access shops. This has thus
3made it necessary for Primark and other clothing line dealers and thus showing how online shopping is growing to become a key opportunity and trend in the market.Primark also has some technological factors that are affecting it that include the accelerating growth of e-commerce. Transaction of business online has necessitated the company to adopt more computerized systems and various methods of advertisement to try to work their way into the market. A traditional brick and motor company such as Primark not operating in the websites make it more susceptible to decline in store sales as the internet continues shaping the environment and how it works.
