Social Security Administration oversees hanging many different aspects in the federal government. They handle millions of cases each year for disability insurance and supplemental security income. FactsThere are many different facts about the Social Security Administration identified in this case study. The Commissioner of the Social Security is JoAnn Barnhart (Cropf & Loutzenhiser, 2012). The goals of the Social Security Administration are service, stewardship, solvency, and staff (Cropf & Loutzenhiser, 2012). Unlike many large federal agencies, the Social Security Administration has a more flexible response and employee involvement (Cropf & Loutzenhiser, 2012). Even with the increase of caseloads, and the denial of cases, the workers are required to display respect, responsiveness, and reliability (Cropf & Loutzenhiser, 2012). The three major programs that the Social Security Administration focuses on is Disability Insurance, Old Age andSurvivor Insurance, and Supplemental Security Income (Cropf & Loutzenhiser, 2012). Disability Insurance benefits, over the recent years of 2000 to 2005, has increased more than sixty percent (Cropf & Loutzenhiser, 2012).
