Cassia MonteiroFilm 101Professor Hamilton 09/28/16Battleship Potemkin Before watching the movie, Battleship Potemkin, directed by Sergei Eisenstein, the mediaproclaimed the movie to be a technical masterpiece with montage editing that is influential to this day. I predicted the movie to be all around spectacular. Though, I did find the movie a little boring since I am not used to no voice nor color, I did notice the reasons why it is so legendary. Eisenstein created a montage that would be remembered for years to come. The scene added visual excitement and drama to his films that left people in awe. It contributed in creating an intellectual meaning through the juxtaposition of multiple significant shots that collide to become purely conceptual. This scene stuck in my memory, there was so much emotion and climatic instances that revealed the chaos that the society was living at that particular date.
