The seven software development wastes, including examples of each within my organization: Partially done work and rework as a result of incomplete requirements decomposition, halt and pivot decisions, and miscommunication in the criteria for done in the development of new software requirements. Relearning and handing off valuable lessons acquired through experience as a result of a high rate of attrition which was later learned to be directly tied to employee burnout rates, career stagnation, and generally unhappy unmotivated employees. Extra features (gold plating) being baked into the software baseline, and without going through the established change management process gaining all necessary approvals prior to developing the additional capabilities resulting in misappropriated use of resources. Task switching is less of a concern in our organization now, having transitioned to agile, however there was a period where it was evident that appropriate attention was not being focused in the priority tasks. I am an advocate for multi-tasking however it is imperative to understand each
