More About The Poem The poem “The Red Wheelbarrow” the author decided to use little words and make the reader invision what the scene looked like. As you can see to the right, two people envisioned the wheelbarrow differently. Instead of describing the shame Williams describes the color of the wheelbarrow and its importance. In the sentence “so much depends upon” we can infer that to a farm and to the chickens in the picture, this wheelbarrow is necessary and has an important role.
How The Poem Relates to 20th Century America The time period of the 20th century had many ups and downs, and I believe this is reflected perfectly in the poem “The Red Wheelbarrow” by William Carlos Williams.
