2.08 Mass in Motion Lab Name Overview In this virtual lab, you will observe how mass and velocity affect a ball’s momentum. The momentum will be indirectly measured by using a virtual ruler to measure the distance an orange rectangle (called a sled in the directions) is pushed backwards. A ball with greater momentum will result in the orange rectangle being moved farther. You will virtually roll a ball down a ramp and see how far it pushes an orange rectangle. Keep in mind that you are going to make careful measurements and record data. Before Conducting the Lab Complete questions 1-3 of the Graded Assignment (Lab Report below) beginning on page 2 of this document. Virtual Lab Procedure Open the lesson “ 2.08 TEXTBOOK Investigation: Mass in Motion 1 ” in the 2.08 Learn module of your Physical Science course. The Mass in Motion Virtual Lab in on page 2. Watch this 2-minute video if you need help finding the simulation: Practice trial : The left edge of the orange rectangle (sled) begins at the zero cm mark on the tan ruler.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
