Interview and Reflection Assignment Reflection Innovation is important for the growth and progression of a company. A few ways that innovation does this is by giving a company or organization a competitive advantage, meaning that it is able to respond to the increasing amount of customer expectations and choices, while providing a unique competitive position for the enterprise in the marketplace. Innovation can also help the company adapt to the changes within the workplace dynamics and trends, as well as meeting the goals the company sets. Likewise, it can help companies stay relevant, by keeping up with the fast-evolving costumer and advances in technology. Over the last few weeks I have learned a lot about effective innovation architecture and supporting a culture of innovation within organizations. Companies foster a culture of innovation in many ways and what works for one company may not work for another, it all depends on the goal of the company. However, I believe that the most valuable thing that I have learned about effective innovation architecture has to do with the companies the organizational processes. In order for a company to continue an innovation architecture, they need to constantly sustain its innovation pipeline. A company’s pipeline is the plan that the organization needs so that they capture, evaluate, and launch new ideas. I learned that a company’s pipeline upkeep is all about balance, and that it is vital that the company supports innovation. This can be done by combining it in the organizational processes (Lecture 4, 2010). I have also learned that there are many different structured innovation processes that a company or organization can use in order for them to add aid to their innovation process. From my understanding, when it comes to structures there are no one size fits all option and a company or organization does not need to choose a particular structure. However, the structure does need to have one requirement, it needs to allow for a culture of innovation to be supported by incorporating it in the organizational processes.
