THEORY EVALUATION PAPER: KOLCABA'S COMFORT THEORY2Evaluation of Kolcaba’s Comfort TheoryIntroductory ParagraphFor a long time, nurses and other medical practitioners have been aiming for ways in which they can give quality health outcomes to the patients. In doing these, various theories are used as guidelines that provide frameworks for successful operations. This has resulted in successful solidification of nursing theories and the validities that are used in research works. The theories have also been accompanied by positive outcomes of the patients and the general improvement in nursing practices (Kelly, 2018). The relationship between practice and theory is, therefore, of a massive value because it shows that once a theory is developed, it is validated in practice. In several instances, nurses face the challenge that requires a demonstration of effective health strategies so as to help the patient (Kolcaba and DiMarco, 2015). This paper gives a review of the three basic stages of evaluating a theory through the use of the presented concepts that relate to the established guidelines. This will be done by examining kolcaba's Comfort Theory through the description and critical analysis. It is essential to state that the provision of the best care for the patients involves a successful intervention of theoretical considerations. The main purpose of this paper is to address kolcaba’s theory of comfort and its application in surgery as well as a different aspect of the Theory that is better used within the context of centered care.Theory DescriptionAccording to Kolcaba and DiMarco, (2015), the term comfort is used to refer to a complete and holistic outcome enabling the patient to experience comfort in their whole self through strategized care at the desired levels. The Comfort Theory involves unique components that enhance delivery from the examination of the literature. It involves literature from different

It is a theory that positions the comfort in health management at the center, thereby displaying the favorable outcomes in nursing care. Kolcaba's Theory of comfort state that comfort for all forms of pain provides reliefs and ease. Comfort is also the transcendence that a patient can get from all the stressful situations that arise from Healthcare institutions. It can be enhanced through various behaviors of patients and other people who are related to the patient, such as the family members, the nurses and the caregivers themselves. As a nurse, it is important to guarantee safety and comfort for the patient. The concepts here include holistic care and seeking Healthcare behaviors as well as variables that are intervening during the care. This Theory addresses four basic elements of metaparadigm in nursing. The basic elements include
