Andrew Kirk 9/17/19 BIOL 102L Butterfly Thermoregulation Conclusion Our results find that lateral basking provides no significant difference in the rate of heat absorption in other test “butterfly” compared to dorsal basking. This could be due to both the control and test subjects receiving the same amount of direct light in the same temperature-controlled environment. Both the control and test subject started at room temperature and were both exposed to the same direct light in an environment that is also room temperature. Had the test been run in a significantly colder environment I believe the results could be different. Dorsal basking is more effective in lower temperature environments as it allows the butterfly to get as much surface area

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
