Situational Audits Every leader has too many different situations that they face every day. Some leaders do and will fail but some leaders in the same situations will excel. This is similar why if a sports team with a losing record does not fire the entire team but will fire the head coach and other coaches. The leader should be able to take the players, volunteers, or employees to the next level in whatever situation they are working. Different situations call for different leadership approaches. “Ministry context is critical because it affects the amount of influence a leader is able to exercise and it will ultimately determine the leader’s effectiveness.” 1 There are just times that a ministry leader is just not able to minister or lead effectively either because of the members of the church, past history, or maybe even church policy. The New Testament tells us the Jesus was not able to perform miracles in his hometown because of the lack faith the local people had in Him. If the context that surrounds the ministry position is good, the leader should be able to use his or her influence to create positive change. The audits that are covered in this paper are used to help determine certain skills and pastor fits at church. The audits are relational skills, task skills, leadership style, structure, leader’s and church’s values, ideal and current leadership circumstances, and pastor- organizational fit. The more a leader understands themselves and their situation the better they will be able help those they lead and add value to the Kingdom of God and His church. A leader cannot assume that they will be successful even if the situation is perfect. Since there is never any perfect situation or church, the leader must always be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and the biblical foundations of leadership.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
