2 Problem Solving and Judgement Members of management in any field of work are faced with numerous challenges. Any time a person or group of people oversee dealing with the various personalities a wide range of issues are destined to come up. The key aspect of management is not dealing with the demands of the business, but how management handles the problems that arise within the team of people they manage. Two of the most significant skills necessary in both professional and personal life are problem solving and decision making. To make sound decisions members of a management team need a multitude of skills such as the ability to innovatively promote and identify options, clarity of judgement, steadfastness, and the capability to execute ideas successfully. The ideas and concepts presented throughout this paper will explain the skills needed to resolve some common issues facing management like employee accountability, keeping employees engaged, and concerns with skill and career development. It will also describe the use of judgement in sound decision making.
