Katie Carbajo and Meredith Murphy Dr. Rick Albrecht MOV 201 26 November 2018 “To Be the Best, Athletes Need to Commit to a Single Sport”This chapter sparked an interest in the both of us due to our athletic backgrounds. I played soccer since I was old enough to kick the ball, and throughout my athletic career, I have always favored this sport. In middle school, I picked up volleyball as a second sport. Naturally, I was more skilled in soccer due to the experience I had in the past, however, I thought I found another sport I could thrive in. When I began high school, I continued with both volleyball and soccer my freshman year. At the end of the soccer season my freshman year, my coach explainedto us that if we were not focused solely on soccer and playing on a competitive club team during the off season to continue improving our skills, we would be cut from the team next year. Soccer was what I had grown up loving, it was MY sport. Therefore, I quit volleyball and committed to soccer just as my coach had insisted.
As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.
