RESIT 2 Task 1 External recruitment allows organizations to access a broader pool of qualified candidates that the company can choose from. Different recruitment methods entail the use of external agencies, education liaison, and print media. These methods have various advantages and disadvantages. Recruitment is a flourishing industry with agencies competing in every form and manner. These external agencies outsource the required labor force for the company but identifying the most competent candidate from their extensive database. This form of recruitment has numerous advantages. First, the agencies are trained in identifying the ideal talent and finding the employees best fit for the market. Recruiters make their money through commission. Therefore, the amount of money earned is determined by the quality of work delivered. Finally, using an external recruitment agency helps in saving money for an organization. This is because an organization can continue running their business as another organization deals with the recruitment process ( Farndale, Nikandrou & Panayotopoulou, 2018) . Nonetheless, numerous challenges exist with the use of any external agency. The HR manager is an essential member of an organization, and a wrong hire can affect the integrity and the image of an organization. Lack of control on the hiring process is a significant disadvantage. One of the main cons of using recruiting agencies is the high cost of the recruitment process. Recruitment agencies have a fee for services offered in terms of the taxes, administrative costs. Another disadvantage is communication issues. If the recruiters and the organizations are not on the same page, it becomes difficult to communicate the aims of the organization ( Farndale, Nikandrou & Panayotopoulou, 2018) . Another form of external recruitment is through print media. The method has numerous advantages. First, the technique targets a rather mature audience. Also, the method is efficient in

RESIT 3 the case where an organization aims at hiring a local workforce. This is because print media allows an organization to focus on a particular audience and of a specific geographic setting. Moreover, print media allows for greater flexibility, unlike other job boards that enable a person to stick to a particular template. The method also has numerous disadvantages. One of the main cons is that very few people currently read different forms of print media such as newspaper. The digital space is presently replacing the print media as it provides a more accessible and more direct way of accessing news. Furthermore, the publishing process is also slow. The process entails deciding on the form of print media to use and consult with the publishers on the content, cost, and other factors. Finally, the method is limited to members of a particular skill and a specific geographical location. This means that there is a high probability of missing out on essential skills ( Farndale, Nikandrou & Panayotopoulou, 2018) .
